Loretta Westmoreland Hardy, 77, of Dalton, entered into the gates of heaven Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Westmoreland, and sister, Henrietta McDaniel.
She was a member of Grove Level Baptist Church and Joe Yarbrough’s Sunday school class.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Hardy of the residence; daughter, Marilynn Toinette Hardy of Roswell; son-in-law, Martin Friedman of New York; son, Charles Exter Hardy III of Davis, Calif.; sister, Barbara O’Bryant of Dalton; six grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Hardy is today at 7 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Exter Hardy III, Dr. Charlie Bridges and the Rev. Tim Samples officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Grove Level Baptist Church, “Rise up to the Vision,” Dalton Women’s Enrichment Center or Gideon’s North Camp, P.O. Box 3922, Dalton, GA 30719.
