The Rev. Charles E. Williams, 76, a resident of Crandall, went home to be with the Lord and his wife Rose on Saturday.
The Rev. Williams was the son of the late Ona Mae Alred Williams and Daniel Williams. His wife, Rose Williams, his son, Steven Williams, and his brother, Cecil Williams, also preceded him in death.
He worked as a truck driver for many years. He also worked in construction and he retired from the U.S. Forestry Service. The Rev. Williams pastored many churches in Tennessee and Georgia including Ball Play Baptist, Mountain Springs Baptist, Shady Springs Baptist, Little Conasauga Baptist and Midway Baptist Church, where he was presently a member. He was a loving father and grandfather!
Survivors include his daughter, Becky Fansler and her husband the Rev. Tracy Fansler of Cleveland, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Bethany Fansler and Devin Fansler and his wife Jennifer; his sister, Lorene Ledford of Rome; his brother, Donnie Williams and his wife Shirley of Chatsworth; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The remembrance of life service will be conducted today at 2 p.m. at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Herbert Fansler, the Rev. Darren Fansler and the Rev. Tracy Fansler officiating.
Interment will follow in the Fairy Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Larry Brown, Johnny Sosebee, Rocky Green, Audie Caldwell, Dakota Fansler, Levi Weaver and Devin Fansler serving as pallbearers.
A dove release will conclude the services.
The family received friends on Monday at the Wildwood Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes, who has charge of the arrangements.
