Mrs. Bessie Hensley Crump, 88, of Chatsworth, passed peacefully into rest at Erlanger Medical Center on Monday, Sept. 23, 2013.
She was known and loved as the best waitress at Edna’s Restaurant. She was also a member of Berean Baptist Church in Gilmer County.
Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, C.G. Crump; her parents, Lillie and Velt Hensley; her brother, Cleburn Hensley; granddaughter, Lisa Crump; and a great-grandson, Dustin Crump.
She is survived by her loving children, daughter and son-in-law, Shelba Jean and David Rymer; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Karen Crump, Gary Crump, and Terry and Cheri Crump; sister and brother-in-law, Inez and Lloyd Nolan; brothers-in-law, B.T. Crump and Raymond Vick; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Crump will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Davis, the Rev. Bobby Green and the Rev. Shane Williams officiating.
Interment will be in Berean Baptist Church Cemetery in Gilmer County.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
