Samuel “Tres” Macdoughal Tate III, 40, of Dalton, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at Emory Crawford Long Hospital in Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Carter Tate, and he was a member of Dalton First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Samuel M. Jr. and Ann Miller Tate of Dalton; aunts and uncles, Vicki and Bruce Robinson, and Amelia Fleming and Jim Tate, all of Marietta, and Frank and Gail Tate of Mableton; stepsisters, Melanie Lovingood of Dalton and Laura Reed of Loganville; stepbrother, William L. Miller III of Dalton; and cousins and many special friends.
A memorial service to honor the life of Mr. Tate will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Robin Lindsey officiating.
Inurnment will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Dalton First United Methodist Church.
