Mr. Jose Jesus “Chuy” Sanchez-Rojas, 45, of Dalton, departed this life Thursday, Aug. 29, 2013, at Emory Healthcare in Decatur.
Chuy was born Dec. 24, 1967, in Santa Fe, Guanajuato, Mexico. Chuy was employed at Tandus Floooring Inc. as a tufting mechanic. He loved to play pool and soccer. He was always the best goalie. He favorite team was the Chivas de Guadalajara. He was a member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church. Chuy was a fighter and battled lung cancer for the past three and a half years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hilario Sanchez-Mendez.
He is survived by his mother, Andrea Rojas-Arredondo of Dalton; sons, Jesse Sanchez of Green Bay, Wis., Osvaldo Sanchez of Dalton; daughters, Alysia Sanchez, Maria Sanchez, both of Green Bay and Shakira Sanchez of Dalton; former wife, Linda Sanchez of Green Bay; brothers, Mario Sanchez, Gerardo Sanchez and Manuel Sanchez; sisters, Esmeralda Sanchez, Socorro Sanchez and Guadalupe Sanchez; fiancee, Maria Fraire, all of Dalton; several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church at noon with Father Jimmy Gil officiating.
He will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with his close family serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
