Letter: A bond to unify

— Sunday, Jan. 19, is on many calendars World Religion Day, and is celebrated around the globe by many faith traditions with conferences, interfaith discussions, prayer services and other events that foster a greater understanding and communication among the world’s religions.

The Dalton Baha’i Community observes this day, established in 1950, to call attention to the essential oneness and harmony of religion, to ease suffering, create unity, and to bring about peace. As stated in Baha’i scripture, “Religion should be the cause of love and agreement, a bond to unify all mankind, for it is a message of peace and goodwill to mankind from God.”
