All in good health

The Daily Citizen

— You might have concerns about diabetes or nutrition. Maybe you want to quit smoking and haven’t been able to. You might have heard about Obamacare but still don’t know exactly what it is and if it might help you. Maybe you need home health care or hospice and don’t know where to turn.

You’ll have the opportunity get to information on all those topics and many more Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mack Gaston Community Center in Dalton.

The Erwin Mitchell Community Health Fair brings together health care providers, educators and community organizations to help local residents improve their own well being.

In addition to workshops and presentations, the health fair will offer several free health screenings. Officials at the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership, which organizes the event, say that past health fairs have helped people learn how to control high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol and other heath problems.

In addition, those who attend the free event will also be able to get flu shots for $20.

There’s no other cost to the event, and organizers want anyone who has any questions about health and health care to attend.

So if you have some free time Saturday, particularly if you or a loved one have health issues, it will do you good to stop by the Mack Gaston Community Center.
