Letter: The Obama scandals

— There are several scandals currently plaguing the White House.

There’s the IRS scandal. Apparently, the IRS has for several years been illegally and reprehensively targeting conservative groups who were applying for tax-exempt status.

Said Mr. Obama, “I dunno anything about that.”

And that’s more or less going to be the end of it because no one will ever be able to prove otherwise. Oh sure, a few heads might roll at the IRS.

In fact, IRS Chief Steven Miller was forced to leave a few weeks prior to his already arranged retirement. And Lois Lerner, the head of the tax exempt branch, was put on paid administrative leave. Wowee, now that’s some heavy-handed discipline.

Even though none of this will ever touch Obama, it’s painfully obvious that Obama has, ever since his first inauguration, created a culture of hatred towards anyone who disagrees with his Marxist ways.

Then there’s the Associated Press scandal, where Obama’s alter ego, Eric Holder, claims his deputy attorney general ordered the Justice Department to monitor the phone records of a whole bunch of AP reporters. Holder claims he had recused himself from the matter, whatever in the world that means. Snooping on reporters sort of flies in the face of the First Amendment, doesn’t it?

Said Mr. Obama, “I dunno anything about that.”

Of course he did. But you’ll never prove it. When Obama’s cohorts concoct their little schemes, they make sure he has plausible deniability.

Which brings us to the third scandal, Benghazi. This is the only one that really matters, because Obama cannot weasel out of this one. Oh sure, his mouthpieces and media sycophants will downplay it and spin it and call it old news.

But the facts are incontrovertible. On the night of Sept. 11, 2012, in Benghazi, Libya, four brave Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, were brutally murdered by terrorists.

Now Obama knew about the attack within minutes and he also knew it was a terrorist attack. What did he do about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. He could have immediately ordered military intervention. Our brave soldiers in the Middle East would have responded in a heartbeat.

No, Obama hid. He shirked his duty as commander-in-chief. He left his post. He has never stated what he did that night. We know why he did nothing. He had an election to win and he wasn’t going to let a little thing like a few dead Americans screw that up.

Obama can never overcome this shame. Fifty percent of Americans will give him a pass, but the other 50 percent will remember.
