Can anyone honestly question the truth embodied in the old adage, “Figures don’t lie, but liars sure figure”?
I challenge anyone to prove the fallacy of the above quoted adage. What inspired these thoughtful reflections was an accidental slippage into the “black hole” of divergent arguments for or against the Republican congressional and the Democratic senatorial proposed budgets for 2014.
The ruling class elites aired on C-SPAN Sunday afternoon. If history is any indication of future conduct, one should take cognizance of the fact that the Republican Congress has consistently proposed budgets when constitutionally required to do so, however, the Senate has failed to pass a budget in over four years, content to advance its liberal agenda by continuing resolutions.
Sen. Harry Reid, speaker of the Senate, has cynically stated, “It would be irresponsible to propose a budget.” Whether cynical, irresponsible or shrewd as a snake, it is a constitutional mandate. Oh well, go figure.
