Hicks has his dream on the line
Since age 5, Rocky Face’s Derek Hicks has dreamed of nothing else but being a professional fisherman. Since 2006, he has been involved in trying to turn his love and greatest hobby into a full-time career as a pro on the Walmart FLW Tour.

CRBI plans family paddle on Etowah River June 9
The Coosa River Basin Initiative will host a 10-mile paddle on the Etowah River from Euharlee to US 411 near Kingston on Saturday, June 9.
State quota hunts must be applied for online
Beginning June 1, Georgia Wildlife Resources Division will accept online applications for public quota hunts, including deer, alligator, waterfowl, dove and many others. The newly redesigned system now allows sportsmen and women of all ages to apply electronically for quota hunts including adult/dhild specialty hunts.
Snake encounters increasing, but numbers of snakes aren't
A warm winter and spring probably contributed to more snakes being seen this year, but there’s no evidence that Georgia’s snake populations are increasing.
