Area arrests

• Joseph Fitzgerald Ward, 48, 747 E. Confederate Ave., Atlanta, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with first degree forgery and third degree forgery.

• Rita Darlene Webb, 55, 123 McIntosh Way, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Charles Shane Weik, 35, 30 Side Trail, Covington, was charged Tuesday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI, failure to maintain lane, no insurance, an open container violation and a hit and run.
