Area arrests

• Scottie Dale Brown, 35, 708 Vernon Drive, Tunnel Hill, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Kody Lee Gates, 19, 2234 Raintree Way, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by Georgia State Patrol with DUI and driving without a valid license.

• Hilda Diane Harrison, 53, 805 West Crawford St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, improper lane change or usage and failure to maintain a lane.

• Richard Anthony McNeese, 46, 4833 South Dick Creek Road, LaFayette, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI (.08 grams or more within three hours or more), fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving.

• Horacio Augustine Rendon-fraire, 26, 214 Platte St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple assault (family violence) and criminal trespassing resulting in damages of $500 or less.

• Shunell Towns Jr., 30, 1808 Shadow Lane - 2 , Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence, first offense), cruelty to child, no insurance and operating a vehicle without a proper tag or decal (new residents have 30 days to register their vehicle).

• Kemmley Frazier, 41, 2014 Strickland Trail, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, probation violation, child support, giving a false name, age or address to an officer, failure to maintain a lane, an open container violation and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

• Alonzo Ray Howard, 37, 2926 Humphrey Bridge Road, McDonald, Tenn., was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, failure to dim headlights, affixing material to reduce or tint lights and a tire violation.

• Justin Antonio Luna, 22, 311 Meeting St. - 3, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Varnell Police Department with DUI, laying drag or reckless conduct with an automobile, reckless driving and an open container violation.

• Osbaldo Perez, 20, 306 Roberts Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, willful obstruction of officers, open container violation, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to obey persons directing traffic and driving with an instructional permit only.

• Garrett Sturduivant, 17, 596 Thompson Hill Road, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with drugs not in original container, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and furnish, purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor.
