Area arrests

• Jorge Alberto Aragon-Luna, 39, 204 Kurt Drive, Calhoun, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Mary Diane Bishop, 29, 203 Keith St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI-drugs, driving while license is suspended or revoked and alteration of license plates.

• Ronnie Edward Bowers, 30, 1851 Riverbend Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with first degree burglary and theft by taking.

• Whitney Rashante Cooper, 27, 2033 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Georgia State Patrol with hit and run, failure to report an accident, passing in a no-passing zone and failure to maintain lane.

• Juan Garcia-Palomares, 38, 106 Oak Beach Drive, Acworth, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Eric Jordan Hunter, 20, 410 Cattleman Drive-B, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by shoplifting, possession of a counterfeit substance and three misdemeanor probation violations.

• Israel Jimenez, 28, 36 Highland St., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Artemio Lopez-Romero, 54, 203 Whistle St., Calhoun, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Johnny Ray Bixby, 45, 783 Brackett Road, Resaca, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with attempt or conspiracy to commit felony violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

• Deborah Renae Canales, 35, 1774 N. Boyd Drive, Rocky Face, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale of meth.

• Anthony Ray Davis Jr., 31, 105 School House Road, Calhoun, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with attempt or conspiracy to commit felony violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

• Barbara Renae Pittman, 42, 57 Chota Circle, LaFayette, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with attempt or conspiracy to commit felony violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act and use of communication facilities in drug transactions.
