Area arrests

• Jesse Raymond Bates III, 28, 505 W. Walnut Ave., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with first degree burglary, theft by deception and giving false statements.

• Daelyn Renae Dyer, 18, homeless, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of drug-related objects.

• Victor Manuel Hernandez, 33, 106 Westwood Circle-B, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with being a fugitive from justice.

• Baldemar Jaramillo-Garcia, 19, 738 Woodland Circle, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with crossing guard line with drugs without consent, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, willful obstruction of law officers and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

• Jobbie Jones Jr., 48, 164 Stephens Drive, Dry Branch, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with two counts of possession of opium to distribute.

• Tammy Louise Locke, 44, 211 Dixon Drive, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking in meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Vickie Elaine Roach, 47, 87 Etna Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 3 drug.

• Enrique Rodriguez, 51, 819 Mattie Drive, Dalton, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Christopher James Taylor, 21, 3677 Lindsey Memorial Road, Rocky Face, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by shoplifting and felony probation violation.

• Daniel Wayne Hawkins, 58, 1008 Ponderosa Place, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Michael James Leaman, 33, 1006 Red Clay Road, Cleveland, Tenn., was charged Wednesday by the Varnell Police Department with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Tina Louise Roberts, 43, 822 Kelly Jones Road, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with 13 counts of deposit account fraud.

  • Suspect in custody, will be taken to hospital for evaluation (Updated 9:35 p.m.)

    A man who reportedly barricaded himself on the second floor of a two-story building at 1029 S. Hamilton St. in Dalton, believed to have been armed, is now in custody and is on his way to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
