Area arrests

DALTON — • Jamal Omar Ishmail Alshouli, 18, 981 Carters Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with theft by receiving stolen property from out of state.

• Jesse Raymond Bates III, 27, 505 W. Walnut Ave., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with felony theft by taking.

• Tara Kay Defriece, 25, 5162 Highway 225 N., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with drugs in wrong container.

• Adam Franklin Fields, 26, 319 Mountain View Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of drug-related object, driving while license suspended or revoked and windshield/wiper violation.

• Jeni Lee Hedge, 29, Barney Pierce Road, Lot 20, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of carisoprodol, possession of methamphetamine, possession of dangerous drugs and possession of a drug-related object.

• Harold Rea Lattin, 48, 928 Mount Vernon Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Thursday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with DUI-drugs and driving while license suspended or revoked.

• Freddy Lamar McCutcheon, 39, 312 Second Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of carisoprodol, possession of meth, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of a drug-related object and probation violation (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Charles Ryan McKenzie, 36, 4097 S. Dixie Highway, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, possession with intent to distribute meth and possession of meth.

• Lineann Paige Staten, 32, 522 Luke Powell Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, driving while license suspended or revoked and open container violation.

• Montrez Davon Wooten, 23, 2015 Orchard Nob, Chattanooga, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated stalking, aggravated battery and terroristic threats and acts.

• Erick Carrillo, 17, 1801 Shadow Lane, Apt. 3, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with burglary.

• Kevin Dewayne Carroll, 28, 2775 Old Chattanooga Road, Rocky Face, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI-drugs, no license on person, driving without a valid license and too fast for conditions.

• Adam Cory Long, 20, (homeless), Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.

  • Suspect Photo 2.jpg DPD seeks identity of credit card theft suspects

    The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used a stolen credit card on March 31 to make purchases at two locations in Dalton. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video at a gas station and the second suspect was described to investigators by witnesses.
