Area arrests

• Julie Jones Brumlow, 45, 4276 Stef Lane, Kennesaw, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.

• Hunter Alan Chadwick, 21, 109 Golf View Drive, Cohutta, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and failure to appear.

• Joshua Aaron Cruz, 23, 153 Highland Way, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with driving while license suspended or revoked, DUI, failure to drive within a single lane and a safety belt violation.

• Garrett Grayson Hall, 35, 202 Auburn Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth, possession of drug-related items and loitering or prowling.

• Herman Bradford Martin Sr., 49, 602 Dawnville Road N.E., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery, reckless conduct and discharge of a firearm under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• James Tyler Murray, 24, 401 Blackwell Road, Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of Clonazepam.

• Richard Cameron Rainey, 19, 1310 Felice St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and possession of drug-related items.

• Robert B. Reynolds, 25, 163 Dickerson Way, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of opium.

• Billy Ray Sexton, 47, 135 Quarles Road, Crandall, was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of hydrocodone, possession of meth, manufacture/sale of/dispensation of/distribution of meth, failure to keep drugs in original container, possession of tools for the commission of crime, driving while license is suspended or revoked, having an open container in the vehicle, DUI and a safety belt violation.

• Brandon Scott Langley, 19, 168 Deer Park, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s office with burglary, being a runaway and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• Lamar Roshan Smith, 24, 1114 Foster St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with being a pedestrian under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

• Mikel Dean Westmoreland, 37, 503 Murray Hill Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI.

• Adam Keith Winters, 39, 1804 Shadow Lane, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with battery and criminal trespass.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.
