Area arrests

• Freddy Joe Day, 39, 1045 Erwin Hill Church Road, Calhoun, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with obstruction of an officer, possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a drug-related object and having contraband across guard lines.

• Jairo Gonzalez-Perez, 28, 4267 Ferguson Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, was placed on hold Sunday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Qiana Renee Jacobs, 33, 4577 Caleb Crossing, Powder Springs, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, failure to maintain lane, use of safety belts in passenger vehicles and a tire violation.

• Enrique Tirado, 37, 203 Victor Drive, Calhoun, was placed on hold Sunday at the Whitfield County jail by ICE.

• Henry Gregg Austin, 54, 1219 W. Emery St.-C6, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of cocaine, felony probation violation and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• Olivia Diaz, 18, 11391 Ga. Highway 225 N., Crandall, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• David Brian Elder II, 20, 348 Falcon Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Yuri Wilfredo Jimenez, 28, 139 Cassville Road, Cartersville, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Felipa Partolo-Luarca, 31, 139 Mary Ave., Chatsworth, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Anthony Creal Pedigo, 17, 131 Masey Way, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Anthony Roy Martinez, 24, 1009 Miracle Drive, Rocky Face, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation and obstruction of an officer by threat or violence.

• Brian Matthew Strickland, 20, 48 Regal Way N., Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

  • Bond hearings canceled for two charged in murder case

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.

  • Suspect Photo 2.jpg DPD seeks identity of credit card theft suspects

    The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used a stolen credit card on March 31 to make purchases at two locations in Dalton. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video at a gas station and the second suspect was described to investigators by witnesses.
