Area arrests

• Tommy Lee Allen, 55, 2621 Pleasant Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with aggravated stalking.

• Bryan Andrew Bird, 26, 895 Houston Valley, Tunnel Hill, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with drugs not in original container and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• Thomas Jason Byers, 25, 214 Patricia Ann Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth.

• Bryant Quinn Cooper, 23, 412 Coahulla Creek Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with felony probation violation and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• John Edward Payton, 40, 506 E. Hawthorne St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with second degree forgery and felony probation violation.

• Justin Matthew Raulston, 23, 701 Morningside Drive, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with felony probation violation and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Francisco Javier Rodriguez-Torres, 29, 408 Cedar St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with simple battery, terroristic threats and acts, first degree criminal damage to private property, false imprisonment and reckless driving.

• Billy Lee Talley, 48, 995 Baker Road, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (other weapon); possession, manufacture or distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school; DUI; possession of meth; possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act); false imprisonment; reckless driving; fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer; no insurance; failure to stop at a stop sign; and operating a vehicle without a proper tag or decal.

• Robert Lee Samuel Young, 25, 129 Pendley St., Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by taking.

• Alfred Kenneth Shumake Jr., 32, 2287 Dawnville Beaverdale Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery (family violence) and false imprisonment.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
