Area arrests

• Omar Escalante, 24, no address listed, was placed on hold Thursday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Daisy Rose Marie Groh, 29, 3762 Chattanooga Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with two counts of felony failure to appear and a felony probation violation.

• Frankie Sue Hedgecock, 41, 1575 N. Morris St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, operating a motor vehicle without a proper tag or decal and improper stopping on the roadway.

• Marcus LaFayette Manis, 49, 136 Short Oak Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (family violence) and two counts of probation violation.

• Jose Eduardo Ramirez-Almaraz, 20, 801 W. Tyler St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with unlawful for an inmate to possess a controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI (drugs), improper lane change or usage and operating a motor vehicle without a proper tag or decal.

• Joshua David Sisson, 35, 179 Potters Way, Cohutta, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery (family violence) and false imprisonment.

• Benjamin Joshua Starks, 30, 2001 Cleveland Highway, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts and criminal trespass.

• Mitchell Allen Bowman, 22, 157 Valley Point Drive, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.

• Kimberly Elaine Wallace, 47, 1034 E. Lakeshore Drive, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.
