Area arrests

• Rufino Mejia-Santizo, 25, no street address provided, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI; failure to appear; giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer; failure to maintain lane; driving without a valid license; and an open container violation.

• Kenny Lamar Plott Jr., 39, 194 Cheyenne Trail, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery, felony probation violation and willful obstruction of law officers.

• Daryel Delaya Pruitt II, 29, 6017 Rickwood Drive, Huntsville, Ala., was charged Sunday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, failure to maintain lane and operating a vehicle without a valid decal on license plate.

• Abraham Robledo-Garcia, 19, 416 Southland Drive, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Billy Christopher Stanley, 51, 363 New Prospect Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of Xanax, failure to keep drugs in original container, operation of a vehicle with an improper plate and a seat belt violation.

• Lisa Gail Stanley, 48, 363 New Prospect Road, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of Xanax, failure to keep drugs in original container and DUI.

• Perry Timothy Blassingame, 51, 654 McCharles Road, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Arnoldo Canales-Fraire, 42, 1813 Riverbend Road, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, failure to maintain lane, failure to stop at a stop sign and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

• Kayla Michelle Forshee, 24, 115 Bell St., Soddy-Daisy, Tenn., was charged Monday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with theft by shoplifting, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of meth to distribute, disorderly conduct, possession and use of drug-related objects and willful obstruction of law officers.

• Sconda Nicole Teems, 27, 2008 Smeer Road, East Ridge, Tenn., was charged Monday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with theft by shoplifting, first degree forgery, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of meth to distribute, unlawful for an inmate to possess a controlled substance, disorderly conduct, possession and use of drug-related objects, willful obstruction of law officers, obstruction of an officer by threat or violence, giving a false name or address or date of birth to a law officer, operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended or revoked or canceled, no insurance, removing or affixing a license plate with intent to conceal and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

  • Suspect in custody, will be taken to hospital for evaluation (Updated 9:35 p.m.)

    A man who reportedly barricaded himself on the second floor of a two-story building at 1029 S. Hamilton St. in Dalton, believed to have been armed, is now in custody and is on his way to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
