Area arrests

• Theresa Ann Brackett, 45, 1707 Westside Circle, Rocky Face, was charged Friday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Nina Yvette Franklin, 32, 2758 Tennga Gregory Road, Crandall,  was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with DUI.

• Angel Antolio Galvez, 35, Chattanooga, was placed on hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Friday at the Whitfield County jail.

• Phillip Curtis Jackson, 37, 3947 S. Dixie Highway, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with terroristic threats and acts.

• Franklin Jay McGill Jr., 38, 240 Old Sawmill Spur, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (family violence).

• Kirk Dominic Malebri, 56, 4413 Arbor Terrace, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and a safety belt violation.

• Jose Margarito Rodriguez, 38, 107 Waterville Road, LaFayette, was placed on hold for Immigration and Customs Enforcement Friday at the Whitfield County jail.

• Cheri Ann Washington, 35, 603 Stone St. 11, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and no proof of insurance.

• Paul Walter Bender, 18, 1409 Threadmill Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sell marijuana, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony, driving with a suspended or revoked license and a safety belt violation.

• Brandon Keith Cowart, 20, 114 Timbervale Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence), cruelty to a child (allow to witness felony/battery/family violence) and false imprisonment.

• Jose Antonio Munguia-Galvan, 30, 1022 Connecticut Drive, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of cocaine, DUI, driving with a suspended or revoked license, an open container violation and failure to maintain lane.

• Michael Dewayne Yates, 32, 1116 Willowdale Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with burglary, theft by taking and possession and use of drug-related objects.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
