Area arrests

• Mike Deward Crumley, 51, 1373 E. Bowers Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, no insurance, driving while license is suspended or revoked and operating a motor vehicle while registration is suspended, revoked or canceled.

• Scott Eugene Curtis, 34, 397 New Zion Hill Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of drug-related objects, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of meth, simple battery (family violence) and taking marijuana across guard lines.

• Ricky Allen Gray, 32, 9999 Route 3, Box 68A, LaFayette, was charged Sunday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with possession of meth, DUI (drugs), possession and use of drug-related objects, willful obstruction of law officers, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license is suspended or revoked and a windshield violation.

• Tina Marie Jackson, 42, 674 Smyrna Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Chatsworth Police Department with DUI.

• William Lee Silvers, 39, 3325 River Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth, felony probation violation and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• William Brian Lewis, 48, 306 Coley Road, Rocky Face, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence, first offense), possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Nicky Trill Mills, 36, 192 Guyton Road, Sugar Valley, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of a schedule 4 drug; sale, distribution or possession of dangerous drugs; and felony tampering with evidence.

• James Dempsey Zink, 49, 1709 Westside Circle, Rocky Face, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with misdemeanor theft by taking, crossing guard line with drugs without consent, possession of meth, felony theft by taking and possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Travis Edward Bandy, 44, 378 McCormick Way, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, failure to maintain lane and an open container violation.

• Garland James Cleek, 20, 26853 Dickinson Highway, Hayside, Va., was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Abelardo Carrillo Desantiago, 54, 337 Daisy Lane, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with DUI (second offense) and failure to drive within a single lane.

• Cameron Charles Nolan, 21, 147 Sycamore St., Pikeville, Ky., was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Erik Gandara-Torres, 30, 1174 Centennial Parkway, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery (family violence), cruelty to a child and false imprisonment.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
