Area arrests

• Joseph Craton Blankenship, 59, 200 Temple Drive, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with felony theft by taking.

• James Daniel Byess, 19, 150 Catalina Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Erasto Cortez, 31, 5799 Lay Road, Acworth, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Floyd Kenneth Head, 48, 133 Copperhead Way, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, sale of meth, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of marijuana, possession of meth, possession of tools for the commission of crime and felony tampering with evidence.

• Karl Mitchell Hughes, 36, 402 Bristol Place-39, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with battery (family violence, first offense), cruelty to a child and obstructing an emergency call.

• Eusebio Rodriquez Perez, 34, 135 Landri Road, Calhoun, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Adalberto Pineda-Torres, 31, 38 Mack Johnson St., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Victor Santamaria, 28, 40 Carnes Drive S.W., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Melanie Stansifer, 32, 6811 Lake Hollow Drive, Harrison, Tenn., was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with shoplifting, three counts of possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of a schedule 3 drug, possession of a schedule 4 drug, trafficking in meth (possession), possession and use of drug-related objects and manufacturing/selling/possession to distribute a controlled substance.

• William Blake Ward, 26, 4047 Glenco St., Chattanooga, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with shoplifting, trafficking in meth (manufacturing), three counts of possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a schedule 3 drug, possession and use of drug-related objects and manufacturing/selling/possession to distribute a controlled substance.
