Area arrests

• Brian Deanda, 21, 1119 Roan St., Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and unlawful use of central lane.

• Brandon Daniel Gray, 23, 4091 Logan Road, Rocky Face, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 4 substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, felony probation violation, possession and use of drug-related objects, driving while license is suspended or revoked, failure to stop at a stop sign and fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer.

• Jo Ellen King, 44, 375 Castle Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, improper right/left turn, improper lane change or usage and failure to maintain lane.

• Richard Norman Meeks, 34, 708 Davenport Road, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Kenneth Doyle Smith, 53, 5275 Foshee Road, Philadelphia, Tenn., was charged Sunday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, following too closely, driving too fast for conditions, operating a vehicle without a proper tag or decal and no proof of insurance.

• Benjamin Daniels, 21, 56 Griggs, Tunnel Hill, was charged Monday by Georgia State Patrol with DUI, failure to maintain lane and following too closely.

• Andrew Tyler King, 23, 1055 Durgan Place, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by shoplifting, possession of a schedule 2 substance, unlawful for inmate to possess controlled substance and giving a false name/address/date of birth to a law officer.

• Erica Lynn Messer, 23, 158 Browning Way, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, willful obstruction of law officers and party to a crime.

• Amber Lynn Morris, 27, 127 Bagley Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking (larceny), felony theft by receiving stolen vehicle, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving too fast for conditions, fleeing/attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license is suspended or revoked, taillights violation, removing/affixing license plate with intent to conceal, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, failure to obey traffic control devices (running a red light) and failure to stop at a stop sign.
