Area arrests

• Michael Quinn Aldaba, 27, 250 Old Prater’s Mill Road, Varnell, was charged Monday by the Varnell Police Department with sale, distribution or possession of a dangerous drug, probation violation, giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer, and improper use of safety belts in a passenger vehicle.

• Carl Willard Denton, 54, 1214 Arabian Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Tammy Marie Kerwood, 52, 910 Liddell St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession to distribute meth and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Christine Michelle Rodriguez, 40, 505 Parkside Place, 41-C, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of a schedule 2 drug and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Anna Michelle Singleton, 39, 420 Cattleman Drive, B, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Jesse James Singleton, 43, 420 Cattleman Drive, B, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Steven Douglas Tucker, 44, 144 McFalls St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with battery, possession of meth, parole violation and possession of tools for the commission of a crime related to the Georgia Controlled Substances Act.

• Phillip Rann Welch, 47, 910 Liddell St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with drugs not in original container, possession of a schedule 3 drug, possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Jose Angel Sarmiento-Cisneros, 59, 111 Downing St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Alan Ulises Sias, 19, 402 Barbara Ave., No. 8, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with furnish, purchase or possession of alcohol by a minor, probation violation (felony, two counts) and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

  • Suspect in custody, will be taken to hospital for evaluation (Updated 9:35 p.m.)

    A man who reportedly barricaded himself on the second floor of a two-story building at 1029 S. Hamilton St. in Dalton, believed to have been armed, is now in custody and is on his way to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
