Area arrests

• Kenneth Evan Adams, 49, 550 Baxter Road, Crandall, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of marijuana.

• Kenneth Rodney Adams, 39, 550 Baxter Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with sale of marijuana.

• Cari M. Benton, 39, 703 N. Sixth Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Chatsworth Police Department with distribution of a controlled substance with a fictitious order form and obtaining dangerous drugs by fraud or forgery.

• Johnny Glenn Fendley, 37, 554 Smyrna Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with sale of marijuana.

• Jon Lawrence Findley, 65, 554 Smyrna Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with sale of marijuana.

• Phillip Michael Hunt, 18, 147 George Brock Road, Resaca, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by taking (parts from vehicle), loitering, theft by taking, second degree criminal damage to property (two counts) and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Annette Steward Jones, 51, 2237 Holly Creek Cool Springs Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with sale of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Charlie Jones Jr., 68, 1465 Piedmont Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and duty upon striking fixed object.

• Michael Dewayne Miller, 42, 210-B Cedar St., Varnell, was charged Thursday by the Varnell Police Department with aggravated assault, simple battery and third degree cruelty to a child.

• Angela June Mitchum, 45, 609 S. Thornton Ave., No. 223, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with Drug Court sanctions.

• Marco Baldemar Perez-Lopez, 22, 39 Lakeview Road, Canton, was placed on hold Thursday at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Jill Margaret Spurlock, 37, 4416 Trailwood Drive, Cohutta, was placed on hold Thursday at the Whitfield County jail by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office for Drug Court.

• John Louis White, 34, 5325 Highway 225 S., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of marijuana.

• Gerald Chadwick Williams, 36, 5020 Cohutta Heights Drive, Cohutta, was charged Thursday by the Cohutta Police Department with felony probation violation.

• Allen Lebron Bartlett, 21, 1147 Maria Drive, Dalton, was placed on a parole hold for another agency Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office.

• Clifford Ivan Gillihan, 31, 140 Tasker Brown Circle, Resaca, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with contempt of court (original charge possession of methamphetamine).

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
