Area arrests

• Juan Cabrera-Morua, 56, 2718 Dot Crescent Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, failure to yield when entering an intersection and no insurance.

• Apolinar Flores-Mejia, 54, 694 Sebastian Ave., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Angel Fraire-Mejia, 42, 548 Elwink Ave., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Jacinto Martin-Guarcas, 29, 548 Irwin St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Jose Ortiz, 48, 552 Ermins St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Jose Perez, 42, 206 Jackson St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Marvin Memisel Perez, 24, 206 Jackson St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Anselmo Ramirez-Vasquez, 32, 213 Atlanta St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Samuel Lamar Raymond, 34, 997 Tunnel Hill Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery (family violence), criminal trespass, cruelty to a child and false imprisonment.

• Rony Sebastian-Gonzalez, 36, 1010 Georgia Ave., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Alfredo Sontay, 27, 791 Jones Ave., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Randall Lee Thomas, 52, 232 Rockwater Drive, Tunnel Hill, was charged Monday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Mateo Velasquez-Velasquez, 34, 130 S. Martiele St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Monday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Jody Neil Cartledge, 30, 4970 Ga. Highway 52 Alternate, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of drug-related objects, possession of hydrocodone and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

• Cristian Munguia, 17, 2506 Zoysia Way-A, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with terroristic threats and acts, disorderly conduct and obstruction of an officer by threat or violence.

• Jacob Lamose Wilson, 27, 1808 Shadow Lane-5, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, sale of meth, felony probation violation and misdemeanor probation violation.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
