Area arrests

• Ronnie Lee Cantrell, 55, 611 Honeycutt Road, Mableton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with trafficking or sale of meth (two counts), possession to distribute meth, use of communication facilities in drug transactions, possession of meth and willful obstruction of law officers.

• Ursulo Salome Castillo-Lopez, 47, 140 Johnson St., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Alfred Allen Francis, 43, no address, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with battery, criminal trespass (damages of $500 or less), being a fugitive from justice, obstruction of an officer resulting in injury, and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• Mark Allan Jones Jr., 31, 488 Cedar St., Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with simple assault and battery (family violence, first offense).

• Maria Candalaria Mora-Loza, 35, 112 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Rudy Amilcar Ramirez-Tomas, 27, 144 Johnson St., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Lluvia Selene Reyes, 18, 208 S. Green St.-9, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with attempt or conspiracy against the Violation of Georgia Controlled Substance Act, driving without a valid license and failure to maintain lane.

• Daniel Rivera-Canales, 22, 110 Johnson St., Cartersville, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Juan Manuel Hernandez, 36, 2956 Mulberry Lane, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with simple battery (family violence).

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
