Area arrests

• Wayne Bruce Baskin, 25, 224 Staghorn Drive, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with criminal attempt to commit a felony.

• Angelina Reba Cardin, 22, 1269 Ramey Road, Trion, was charged Tuesday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI-drugs and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• Anthony Ray Chastain, 45, 2165 Richard Bennett Road, Crandall, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.

• Edris Darnell Davis, 41, 914 Flemming St., Muskegon, Mich., was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with theft of lost or mislaid property, theft by taking, first degree forgery, possession or use of another person’s identification without consent, sale of or intent to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of tools for the commission of crime, driving without a valid license and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• Jacobo Lopez-Sanchez, 25, 6006 Crane St., Rome, was placed on hold Tuesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Kellie Davis McCamy, 41, 1604 Castleberry Ave., Chattanooga, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of a schedule 3, 4 or 5 drug and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Cameron Levan Patterson, 31, 225 Robb Brook Road, Crandall, was charged Tuesday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth.

• Joshua Garrett Roberson, 22, 160 Ben Putnam, Resaca, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with felony theft by taking, misdemeanor theft by taking, sale of or intent to sell marijuana, theft by deception, possession of a schedule 4 drug and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

• Keith Paul Silva, 39, 4605 Loftwood Drive, Cohutta, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with shoplifting, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of tools for the commission of crime and being a fugitive from justice.

• Dewayne Paul, 29, no address listed, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with simple battery (family violence), criminal trespass and cruelty to a child.

• Christopher Adam Rogers, 26, 698 Oak Hill St., Chatsworth, was charged Wednesday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of meth.

• Warren Christopher Wilson, 42, 120 Brookshire Drive, Covington, was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI.

  • Suspect in custody, will be taken to hospital for evaluation (Updated 9:35 p.m.)

    A man who reportedly barricaded himself on the second floor of a two-story building at 1029 S. Hamilton St. in Dalton, believed to have been armed, is now in custody and is on his way to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
