Area arrests

• Kenna Noel Hayes, 28, 515 Wildwood Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with identity fraud (20 counts).

• Bryan William Jones, 23, 713 Cohutta St., Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Chatsworth Police Department with probation violation (battery/family violence).

• Ray Farrell Baldwin, 41, 4728 Cedartown Highway, Rome, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by conversion and probation violation.

• Kenyon Cody Carter, 29, 1075 Laura Ave., Tallahassee, Fla., was charged Monday by the Georgia State Patrol with drugs in wrong container, possession of a schedule 2 drug, DUI, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, hit and run, duty upon striking a fixed object, failure to report an accident resulting in property damage, failure to maintain lane, too fast for conditions and no license on person.

• Hector Martinez Garnica, 33, 827 Silverwood, Dalton, was placed on hold for Cherokee County on Monday at the Whitfield County jail by the Dalton Police Department.

• Christopher Nathaniel Griffin, 40, 1021 Foster St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with terroristic threats and acts and disorderly conduct.

• Justin Eric Hardin, 31, 107 Alma Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Parole Office with parole violation.

• Roy Floyd Johnson Jr., 37, 1011 Trimble St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with probation violation (false imprisonment, battery/family violence).

• Sunil Shamji Jungawalla, 46, 3058 Redwood Grove Park, Snellville, was placed on hold at the Whitfield County jail on Monday by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Henry Allen McDade, 57, 1018 Hair St., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with parole violation.

• Hilary Marie McHan, 25, 2727 Highway 286, No. 2, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with burglary, bondsman off bond (burglary), bondsman off bond (theft by taking, theft by conversion, possession of methamphetamine and possession of tools for the commission of a crime), bondsman off bond (shoplifting) and felony theft by taking.

• Kathy Irene Strickland, 51, 2050 Woodridge Lane, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation.

• April Dianne Thurman, 41, 1716-B Smyrna Church Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with felony false statements in matters of jurisdiction of the state and felony false report of a crime.

• John Darse Brannon, 28, 37 Phyllis Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and speeding.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.

  • Suspect Photo 2.jpg DPD seeks identity of credit card theft suspects

    The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used a stolen credit card on March 31 to make purchases at two locations in Dalton. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video at a gas station and the second suspect was described to investigators by witnesses.
