Area arrests

• Amanda Ann Gann, 35, 283 Meadowlark Drive, Ringgold, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Barry Jason Greeson, 37, 907 Sierra Place-57, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI, DUI-endangering a child, following too closely, failure to maintain lane and a headlights violation.

• Jackie Ray Hall, 54, 227 Cobalt St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, failure to maintain lane and following too closely.

• Tracy Ramon Lovain, 41, 232 S. Grimes St., Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth (two counts) and possession of tools for the commission of crime (two counts, for burglary and for violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Heather Lynn Towry, 26, 1705 Brown Bridge Road, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of cocaine, possession and use of drug-related objects and theft by shoplifting.

• Nery Tzun, 31, 15 Booth Road, Marietta, was placed on hold Wednesday at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

• Donnie Nathan Dunn, 25, 461 Stacy Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with sale of meth and use of communication facilities in drug transactions.

• Donald Lee Garrison, 42, 179 Gardenia St., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of meth.

• Hunter Eric Kyle Horn, 18, 135 Palmer Drive, Rocky Face, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a schedule 4 barbituate, failure to maintain lane and too fast for conditions.

• Ellen Vaughn Parker, 32, 164 Holbrook Road N.W., Calhoun, was charged Thursday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of hydrocodone, possession of meth, possession of napsylate, possession of oxycodone, illegal sale and distribution of gabapentin, drugs not in original container, possession of tools for the commission of crime, brake lights and signal devices not up to legal standards and windshields and windshield wipers violation.

• Carol Maria Shaffor, 30, 1 Sir Lancelot Place, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth, possession to distribute meth, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act), probation violation and forgery in the fourth degree (checks).

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
