Area arrests

• Denese Darlene Crider, 53, 311 Scobie Ave., Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by shoplifting, probation violation and possession of meth.

•  Diego Martinez-Hernandez, 25, no address given, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Stephen Adam Lumpkin, 25, 1531 Riverbend Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a schedule 4 drug, possession of methamphetamine, use of firearm by convicted felon during crime and possession and use of drug-related objects.

• Parth Parakash Patel, 19, 1118 Pembrook Lane, Chattanooga, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with criminal attempt to commit a felony (two counts).

• Sherry Jo Redmond, 42, 252 Wagner Drive No. 1, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with attempt or conspiracy to distribute drugs, use of communication facilities in drug transaction and child support arrest order.

• Eddie Eugene Sholtz, 46, 4487 Salem Valley Drive, Ringgold, was charged Friday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, open container, following too closely and speeding.

• Jessie Adam Barnett, 24, 501 McCharles St., No. 24, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with interference with government property, probation violation and failure to appear.

• Matthew Thomas Gregory, 26, 528 Spring Place Smyrna Road, Chatsworth, was charged Saturday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with burglary and theft by deception.

• Christopher Dean Harmon, 44, 401 W. Nance Springs Road, Resaca, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault (gun).

• Stephanie Elaine Pangle, 25, 1124 LaFayette Road, Rocky Face, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
