Area arrests

• Justin Charles Davenport, 26, 31 North Pass, Chatsworth, was charged Sunday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of marijuana, possession of Xanax, driving while license is suspended or revoked and a windshield or windshield wiper violation.

• Patrick Ray Anderson, 35, 203 N. Fredrick St.-1, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with felony probation violation, two counts of child support violation and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• John Dorse Brannon, 31, 1565 Fox Bridge Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony failure to appear and misdemeanor probation violation.

• Kenneth Alan Hall, 51, 1201 Sumach Church Road, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Eton Police Department with DUI and a tail lights violation.

• Amy Marie Hamrick, 26, 1255 Skyview Drive N.W.-23, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with shoplifting and possession of a schedule 2 substance.

• Eddie John Hicks Jr., 40, 106 Mary Lane, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with being a fugitive from justice.

• Cynthia Violet Phillips, 51, 197 Windmill Way-7, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth.

• Dewey Clinton Phillips, 21, 37 Phyllis Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony failure to appear and misdemeanor failure to appear.

• Joshua Labryant Turner, 23, 1609 Antioch Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Dalton Police Department with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, willful obstruction of law officers and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• Wanda Althea Williams, 64, 126 Curtis Road-3A, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

• John Eugene Collins Jr., 31, 22 Silent Lane, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth, probation violation, two counts of willful obstruction of law officers and possession of tools for the commission of crime.

  • Suspect in custody, will be taken to hospital for evaluation (Updated 9:35 p.m.)

    A man who reportedly barricaded himself on the second floor of a two-story building at 1029 S. Hamilton St. in Dalton, believed to have been armed, is now in custody and is on his way to the hospital for evaluation, officials said.
