Area arrests

• David Dewayne Blackmon, 38, 400 Sixth Ave., Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with aggravated assault, battery (family violence, first offense), cruelty to a child and false imprisonment.

• Ashley Jade Epperson, 33, 1427 David Circle, Tunnel Hill, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, possession of a schedule 2 drug, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of felony.

• William Eugene Epperson, 34, 118 Andasol Way, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with sale of or intent to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana, probation violation, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

• David Wayne Grimes, 49, 784 Liberty Drive, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and pedestrian under the influence.

• Phillip Ray Lindsey, 32, 94 Knoll Drive, LaFayette, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s office with terroristic threats and acts, criminal trespass, possession of a schedule 4 drug and public drunkenness.

• Nathaniel Kyle Prater, 20, 1116 Willowdale Road-630, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with burglary.

• Bruce Lawrence Quinn, 29, 1618 Kendall Road, Rocky Face, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with drugs not in original container, possession of a schedule 5 drug, possession of meth, DUI, failure to maintain lane, impeding the flow of traffic and hit and run.

• Jeffery Lamar Stephens, 25, 849 Tilton Road, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with burglary, a child support violation, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of meth and willful obstruction of law officers.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.
