Area arrests

• Jose Jesus Guzman-Chavez, 20, 1149 Daniell Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Salvador Guzman-Chavez, 18, 1149 Daniell Drive, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Randy Velazquez Resendiz, 21, 1429 11th Ave., Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sell marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• Gary Wayne Young, 46, 246 Lower Tales Creek Road, Elijay, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with battery (family violence).

• Ray Charles Brogdon, 49, 4516 Crest Way, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Cohutta Police Department with drugs not in original container, possession of a schedule II drug, possession of a schedule IV drug, possession to distribute a schedule III, IV and V drug, abandoned drugs, poisons or controlled substances and a tampering with evidence felony.

• Castlin Cartlon Jr., 57, 705 Drexel St., Nashville, Tenn., was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving while license suspended or revoked and exceeding maximum limits.

• Shanna Rose Jones, 20, 4515 Crest Way, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Varnell Police Department with possession to distribute meth, possession of marijuana, possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary.

• William Joseph Kelly, 46, 1400 Old Highway 76, Worthington, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Jeffery Preschel Kyer, 35, 608 Kelly St. No. 3, was charged Friday by the Varnell Police Department with possession to distribute meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of meth, possession of tools for the commission of a burglary (two counts) and failure to dim headlights.

• Justin Joe Long, 20, 3031 Five Springs Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with probation violation felony and possession of meth.

• Bradley Eugene Marvuglio, 30, 204 Ina Drive, Rocky Face, was charged Friday by the Varnell Police Department with possession to distribute meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of a burglary (two counts) and giving a false name, address or date of birth.
