Area arrests

• Allen Max Nicholson, 31, 2220 Ballground Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with a child support felony.

• Jason Anthony Southern, 30, 11 Acorn Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with a child support felony.

• Ronald Henry Underwood, 23, 3313 Highway 282, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with a theft by taking-felony.

• Benjamin Shane Cochran, 26, 315 N. Spencer St., Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sale marijuana, parole violation, possession of marijuana, possession of tools for the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, use of firearm by a convicted felon during a crime.

• Catrina Charlene Crider, 32, 311 Meeting St., Apt. 6, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a failure to appear-felony.

• Jeremy Shane Dempsey, 39, 4786 Cleveland Highway, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a probation violation-felony.

• Nora Lee Durham, 37, 310 Cleveland St., Ringgold, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a failure to appear-felony.

• Dexter Elroy Flemming, 34, 4 Derick Lane, Cartersville, was held Friday in the Whitfield County Jail for ICE officials.

• Kenneth Marshan Gay, 22, 648 Glendora Ave., Akron, Ohio, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a failure to appear-felony.

• Matthew Edward Gilbert, 31, 2875 Old Rome Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with having drugs outside their original container, possession of a schedule III drug and a failure to appear felony.

• Christopher Paul Hastings, 26, 158 White Bud Acer Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with a probation violation felony.

• Nadir Ajij Heman, 20, 4840 Jimmy Carter Road, Norcross, was held Friday in the Whitfield County Jail for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials.

• Maegan Nicole Rolen, 26, 487 Caprice Road, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with sale or intent to sale marijuana, possession of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.

• Megan Lee Vaughn, 22, 892 W. Addis Road, Tunnel Hill, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with a hit and run.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
