Area arrests

• Rodney Eugene Brewer, 47, 201 Regency Lane, Calhoun, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Wayne Fox, 56, 2401 Chattanooga Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, theft by taking, drugs out of original container and sale, distribution or possession of dangerous drugs.

• Lisa Ann Hart, 47, 669 Keith Mill Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol with drugs not in original container, illegal possession of a prescription drug and possession of drug-related objects.

• Debra Anita Patterson, 57, 1955 Dawnville Beaverdale Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of schedule II drug, DUI and failure to stop at a stop sign.

• Deneshia Rochelle Shelton, 19, 181 Buck Drive, Chickamauga, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and driving without a valid license.

• Walter Wayne Smith, 51, 499 Bob White Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with terroristic threats and acts and battery (family violence).

• Tanner Keith Whaley, 19, 2135 Beaverdale Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, operating a vehicle without a proper tag, driving too fast for conditions and failure to maintain lane.

• James Hobie Neely, 18, 2213 Rocky Face Circle, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Georgia State Patrol with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Antonio Rodriguez, 22, 2597 Old Chattanooga Road, No. 6, Rocky Face, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Jelani Oba Kehind Sorrell, 28, 1302 Duncan Ave., Chattanooga, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of schedule II drugs, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, being a fugitive from justice and a taillight violation.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.
