Area arrests

• Wade Franklin Hampton, 31, 2833 River Road, Chatsworth, was charged by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of meth and a parole violation. A sheriff’s official said Hampton’s original arrest date was June 18, and it appears additional charges were added more recently. Hampton remained in the Murray County jail as of Saturday afternoon.

• Megan Cauble, 29, 7066 Duncan’s Glen Drive, Knoxville, Tenn., was charged Friday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, an open container violation and failure to maintain lane.

• Timothy Elbert Douglas, 51, 140 Springfield Drive, Apartment JJ, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with sale of marijuana, sale of meth and possession of a drug-related object.

• Eric Wayne Flowers, 19, 1804 Shadow Lane-6, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with battery and cruelty to a child.

• Michael David Hight, 43, 115 Breanna Drive, Chatsworth, was charged Friday by the Eton Police Department with DUI, an open container violation and driving while license is suspended.

• Arturo Campa Jr., 23, 962 Tahoe Trail, Lilburn, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Kimberly Ann Cannon, 40, 1468 Cobb Road, Chatsworth, was charged Saturday by the Eton Police Department with a brake lights/turn signals violation and DUI.

• David Michael Cook, 38, 1178 Arabian Drive, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI, a safety belt violation and driving while license is suspended or revoked.

• Misty Michele Moore, 25, 3371 Crider Road, Rocky Face, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI.

• Morris Alan O’Neal, 25, 4054 Rowling Way, Cohutta, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and a tail lights violation.

• Juan Carlos Jacobo Vieyra, 22, 806 Park Creek Way, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and a tail lights violation.

• James Calvin Willbanks, 21, 20 Mary St., Rossville, was charged Saturday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with driving while unlicensed and driving while registration is suspended or revoked.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

  • Bond hearings canceled for two charged in murder case

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.
