Area arrests

• Caleb Michael Brooks, 24, 74 Weaver Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of a drug-related object.

• Ashley Nicole Cantrell, 27, 186 Wilbanks St., Eton, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Edgar Hernandez-Morales, 36, 119 Sycamore St. S.E., Grand Rapids, Mich., was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with first degree forgery.

• Andrew Tyler King, 23, 1055 Durgan Place, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with theft by shoplifting, theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of a schedule 2 drug, unlawful for inmate to possess a controlled substance and giving a false name, address or date of birth to a law officer.

• Conrad Teneyek Lawrence Jr., 62, 8132 Abbey Road, Richmond, Va., was charged Monday by the Dalton Police Department with first degree criminal damage to property and public drunkenness.

• Erica Lynn Messer, 23, 158 Browning Way, Dalton, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, willful obstruction of law officers and being a party to a crime.

• Amber Lynn Morris, 27, 127 Bagley Road, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking, felony theft by receiving a stolen vehicle, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, driving too fast for conditions, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving while license is suspended or revoked, a tail lights violation, removing or affixing license plate with intent to conceal, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, running a red light and failure to stop at a stop sign.

• Victor Perez Ramirez, 29, 181 Evan Circle, Chatsworth, was charged Monday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with giving false information or false name and having a false or fictitious driver’s license.

• Jose Jesus Landeros, 46, 113 Felker Circle, Dalton, was charged Tuesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated assault with a gun and false imprisonment.

• Loretta Marie Patterson, 34, 1279 U.S. 411 S., Room 101, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of drug-related objects and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Daniel Joseph Usrey, 34, 1386 Sitton Road, Chatsworth, was charged Tuesday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of drug-related objects and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.
