Area arrests

— • Antonio Miranda-Aguilar, 33, 301 Lancaster Ave., Chattanooga, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI-drugs, failure to maintain lane, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, driving without a valid license and an open container violation.

• Martin Ortega Jr., 23, 5105 Kelly Drive, Cohutta, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with burglary (forced entry, residence).

• Bonifilio Perez-Chun, 21, 811 N. Selvidge St., Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with second degree forgery, DUI-alcohol, operating a motor vehicle without a proper tag, duty upon striking a fixed object, no insurance and driving without a valid license.

• Michael Rodriguez, 20, 604 Frazier Drive, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Dalton Police Department with burglary (forced entry, residence) and theft by receiving stolen property.

• James Allen Smartt, 66, 1651 20th Ave., Gruetlie Laager, Tenn., was charged Friday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with DUI-alcohol and improper lane change or usage.

• Joseph Blaine Thornton, 41, 218 Oakstone Way, Dalton, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with aggravated stalking.

• Daniel Ascencio Alvear-Peralta, 27, 701 Fifth Ave., Apartment 22, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI-alcohol, fleeting/attempting to elude a police officer, improper turn, driving without a valid license, failure to stop at a stop sign and improper lane change or usage.

• David Kyle Tucker, 44, 116 Haynes Way, Rocky Face, was charged Saturday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with DUI-drugs and speeding.
