Area arrests

• Kody Lee Gates, 18, 715 Tee Top Drive-9, Cohutta, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with drugs not in original container, manufacture of marijuana and possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Wayne Edward Johns, 45, 244 Caisson Way, Dalton, was charged Wednesday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and public drunkenness.

• Marcus Mann, 26, 371 Jolly Road, Calhoun, was charged Wednesday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by deception and first degree forgery.

• Arturo Morales-Guzman, 41, 5675 Roswell Road-8D, Atlanta, was placed on hold Wednesday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Kenneth James Norbury, 19, 715 Tee Top Drive, Cohutta, was charged Wednesday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI, making an improper U-turn and failure to yield when entering an intersection.

• Adam Eugene Callahan, 29, 916 Cavender Road, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Sergio Sanchez-Pimentel, 25, 506 Colter Drive-C, Dalton, was charged Thursday by the Dalton Police Department with battery (family violence, first offense) and false imprisonment.

• William Henry Thompson, 40, 300 N. Fifth Ave., Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Pamela Faye Wright, 44, 607 Old Free Hope Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Georgia State Patrol with driving while license suspended or revoked, duty upon striking a fixture, reckless driving, DUI, driving on the wrong side of the road, failure to drive within a single lane and a safety belt violation.

• Johnny Lamar Young Jr., 24, 822 Callie Jones Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Chatsworth Police Department with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.
