Area arrests

• Otilia Francisco Domingo, 37, Lawson Avenue, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with a felony theft by shoplifting.

• Miranda Ann Dyer, 28, 586 Apple Road, Ranger, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking an auto.

• Apolonia Juan-Francisco, 32, 200 Bridlewood Drive, No. 32, Shelbyville, Tenn., was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with a felony theft by taking.

• Alan Lee Phipps, 130 E. Lee Drive, Tunnel Hill, was charged Saturday by the Tunnel Hill Police Department with DUI and possession of drug-related objects.

• Juan Avalos-Castillo, 21, 389 Cherokee Trail, Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with simple battery, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI, obstruction of a law enforcement officer, possession of drug-related objects and failure to maintain lane.

• Sebastian Alexander Love, 21, 201 Tarver St., Dalton, was charged Sunday by the Dalton Police Department with a probation violation, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug-related objects.

• Jeremy Daniel Robinson, 35, 202 Crabtree Drive, Tunnel Hill, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI.

• Steve Douglas Stafford, 50, 2782 Jim Petty Road, Crandall, was charged Sunday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and pedestrian under the influence.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

  • Bond hearings canceled for two charged in murder case

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.

  • Suspect Photo 2.jpg DPD seeks identity of credit card theft suspects

    The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used a stolen credit card on March 31 to make purchases at two locations in Dalton. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video at a gas station and the second suspect was described to investigators by witnesses.
