Area arrests

• Joshua Denton Huffman, 30, 450 Keener Road, Chatsworth, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with terroristic threats and acts.

• Jimmy Elden Keener, 48, 2292 Richard Bennett Road, Crandall, was charged Thursday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, two counts of possession of meth with intent to distribute, possession of a drug-related object and probation violation.

• Shayla Monique Armour, 28, 604 Central Ave., Chattanooga, was charged Friday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony theft by shoplifting.

• Alfredo Bautista, 32, 126 Patricia Drive, Chatsworth, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

• Anibal Chun-Guox, 29, 237 Noyes St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Arturo Deleon, 45, 78 Lucera Drive, Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Octavio Eduardo Bartolon-Soto, 36, 234 Martiele St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield Count jail for ICE.

• Jaime Geronimo, 30, 404 Woodward St., Rome, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Abraham Gonzalez-Vicente, 29, 242 Ne Yes St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Hermenegildo Sontay-Lopez, 31, 521 Seven St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• German Sontay-Lopez, 30, 521 Seven St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Felix Taleon-Rivera, 32, 219 Central St., Cedartown, was placed on hold Friday at the Whitfield County jail for ICE.

• Homer Ray Wyatt, 42, 209 Popler St., Clover, S.C., was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with possession of marijuana, possession of meth and possession of tools for the commission of crime (violation of the Georgia Controlled Substances Act).

• Bruno Rodriguez, 27, 2378 Utility Road, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Dalton Police Department with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Timothy John Flaherty, 39, 1352 Peggy Lane, Tunnel Hill, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

• Ira Alexander Dennis, 22, 1033 Holly Grove Drive, Dalton, was charged Saturday by the Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office with felony probation violation and two counts of child support violation.

• Ricky Justice Wood, 30, 196 Campground Road, Calhoun, was charged Saturday by the Murray County Sheriff’s Office with theft by taking motor vehicle.

  • Police: Gun fired, man arrested following dispute on Morris Street (Updated 12:20 p.m.)

    A man has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault after firing a gun following a dispute at A-1 Towing at 1502 E. Morris St. in Dalton this morning, police said.

  • Bond hearings canceled for two charged in murder case

    Bond hearings for Fernando Resendiz and Jovencio Vega-Garcia, charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the fatal shooting of a security guard at Las Delicias on Morris Street in Dalton, have been canceled.

  • Suspect Photo 2.jpg DPD seeks identity of credit card theft suspects

    The Dalton Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects who used a stolen credit card on March 31 to make purchases at two locations in Dalton. One of the suspects was captured on surveillance video at a gas station and the second suspect was described to investigators by witnesses.
