Middle school roundup: Lady Lions cap undefeated year

— Christian Heritage’s middle school softball team won a pair of games against Tennessee teams Tuesday at Heritage Point Park in Dalton — with Hannah Heath throwing a no-hitter in one — to finish the regular season undefeated.

The Lady Lions beat Lookout Valley 7-0 and Chattanooga Christian 15-1 to complete their schedule with a 12-0 mark.

Against Lookout Valley, Erin Leonard struck out seven as she pitched for the win, while Hailey Jones led the way at the plate with three hits and as many RBIs. Aiden Coulter added a double. Against Chattanooga Christian, in addition to Heath’s stellar effort in the circle, Jones and Halle Poteet combined to drive in seven runs.

The Lady Lions begin Independent School Conference postseason play next week. They will have home-field advantage throughout the tournament.



Golf



• Dalton’s boys won a nine-hole match against Peachtree City and host LaFayette and the Lady Cougars beat LaFayette on Monday to finish their seasons undefeated.

In the girls match, Katelyn Skiffen’s 48 was good for medalist honors, while Scottie Sandlin’s 52 also counted as Dalton finished with a 100 to top LaFay-ette by six strokes.

Skiffen was the medalist in every match this season.

In the boys match, Addison Lambert’s 38 led the way for the Cougars and earned medalist honors, while Davis Kirk, Carter Pendley and Davis Smith each shot a counting round of 41. Dalton (161) finished ahead of LaFayette (171) and Peachtree City (194).



Baseball



Christian Heritage 8, Chattanooga Christian 4: The Lions (12-3-1) closed out the regular season with Monday’s road win and clinched the ISC’s regular season championship, which grants them host privileges throughout the conference’s postseason tournament.

Christian Heritage will host either Lookout Valley or Grace Baptist at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the opening round of the tournament.

Against Chattanooga Christian, Tanner Gallman went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, while Avry Thomason added a two-run double and Lucas Grant had a two-run single.

Darryn Pasqua picked up the win, allowing five hits and striking out five in six innings on the mound.

Christian Heritage 10, Boyd-Buchanan 1: In a home win this past Thursday, Pasqua pitched five innings and Gallman worked one inning as they combined for a three-hit, seven strikeout effort against their visitors from Chattanooga.

Joey Schwartz went 3-for-4 with four RBIs to lead the offensive attack, while Pasqua collected a pair of hits, including a triple, and Gallman drove in two runs. Chase Herndon, Colton McCurdy and Alex Semratedu also had RBI hits.



Soccer



• North Whitfield’s girls and boys swept Gladden on Monday, with the Lady Pioneers winning 7-0 and the Pioneers winning 6-2.

In the boys game, Gladden’s goals were scored by Jesus Capistran and Angel Moran.

North Whitfield did not report statistics for either game.
