Coahulla Creek High School football coach Jared Hamlin has been fired.
Athletic Director Rhett Parrott confirmed Monday afternoon that “the school was going in another direction.” Hamlin has been relieved of his head coaching duties and the school will begin a search for a new leader. Hamlin, who is a physical education teacher at the school, is expected to remain at the school through the remainder of the academic year.
The Colts ended their season with a 42-16 loss to Adairsville to finish with back-to-back 2-8 seasons. Hamlin, who played collegiately at Virginia Tech, has been the football coach since the school’s opening at the start of the 2011-2012 school year. After playing a junior varsity schedule in 2011, the Colts are currently a member of Region 5-3A and are 4-16 in two seasons of varsity play.
