Dolphins ready to make push for championship

The Dalton Dolphins will begin competition at 8:30 this morning in the Chattanooga Area Swim League’s annual season-ending City Meet.

The meet, scheduled for today and Saturday at Warner Park in Chattanooga, will pit all 16 teams from the CASL’s three divisions against each other in competition for the league’s overall title.

The Dolphins have already claimed the top-level Blue Division title this summer by finishing 7-1 in dual meets, including a victory against rival Signal Mountain — the winner of the past four City Meet championships.

The last team besides the Green Giants to win the meet was the Dolphins, who took the championship in 2006.

Finals will be held at 5:30 p.m. each day; results from the meet can be tracked online at chattanoogaswim.com.
