WCPRD football youth bowls results

The Whitfield County Parks and Recreation Department concluded its 2011 youth football program with postseason bowls on Saturday at Northwest Whitfield High School’s Bruin Stadium in Tunnel Hill.

Results, highlights and outstanding players from those games included:

Gold Cup Bowls

• Bantam 7-8 — Westside Rockets 19, Eastbrook Firedawgs 6: (W) — Chase Gentry, two touchdown runs and one extra point; Reece McCoy, touchdown run; outstanding offensive players, Sam Gazaway and Tyson Neil; outstanding defensive players, Gage Lyon and Lake Pickens. (E) — Quinton Griggs, touchdown run; outstanding offensive players, Ian Bradley and Job Willis; outstanding defensive players, David Sneed and Benny Ramirez.

• Mite 9-10 — Dug Gap Patriots 22, New Hope Blue Grizzlies 0: (DG) — Chambliss Hardin, 3-yard touchdown run, touchdown reception from Bryce Stanky, who also kicked two extra points; Austin Hackney, interception return touchdown; outstanding offensive players, Davison Reynolds and Colter Long; outstanding defensive players, Jager Dickson and Mason Chastain. (NH)— outstanding offensive players, Chris Cunningham and Brody Crossen; outstanding defensive players, Drew Sage and Daniel Chacone.

• Midget 11-12 — Varnell Colts 24, Dalton Red 0: (V) — Sebastian Orozco, 35-yard touchdown run, 65-yard punt return touchdown; Maddox Adams, 3-yard touchdown run; Jon Connor, three extra-point kicks; outstanding offensive players, Morgan Elrod and Maddox Adams; outstanding defensive players, Trevor Goodwin and Evan Brant. (D) — outstanding offensive players, Noah Bartoo and Tyis Love; outstanding defensive players Harrison Norman and Jonathan Clark.

Silver Cup Bowls

• Bantam 7-8 — Pleasant Grove Eagles 13, Varnell Navy Colts 6: (PG) — Matthew Redmond, two touchdown runs (50 and 60 yards); Kobe Richards, extra-point kick; outstanding offensive players, Brett Talley and Kyle Felker. (V) — Jack Brock, touchdown run; outstanding offensive players, Tyler Locklear and Hunter Presley; outstanding defensive players, Wright Nelson and Christopher Richards.

• Mite 9-10 — Valley Point Greenhorns 12, Pleasant Grove Eagles 6: (VP) — Adam Sowder, two touchdown runs (35 and 50 yards); outstanding offensive players, Koy Gray and Jr. Luna; outstanding defensive players, Bryan Romero and Paxton Long. (PG) — Ethan Arnold, 1-yard touchdown run; outstanding offensive players, Kobi Baker and Cade Bates; outstanding defensive players, Jeffery Edwards and Hayden Reece.

• Midget 11-12 — Westside Rockets 34, Dalton Black 0: (W) — Luke Shiflett, five touchdowns (60-, 55-,12-, and 2-yard runs, 45-yard punt return touchdown) one extra-point kick; outstanding offensive players, Carson Frye and Harley Goodman; outstanding defensive players, Garrett Morrison and Garrett Norris.
