Jamie Jones: Midnight Express wrestler in hospital

— Here are the notes and news items from the world of pro wrestling: Bobby Eaton, one half of the famed Midnight Express tag team, is “gravely ill” in an Arkansas hospital, according to former WWE announcer Jim Ross. No word on what the illness is.

“Bobby Eaton is one of the nicest guys and most genuine talents that I’ve ever had the privilege to work with in my career,” Ross wrote on his blog at www.jrsbarbq.com. “The Huntsville, Ala. native had uncanny timing and awareness in the ring as well as being a reliable, team player. No territory could ever have enough Bobby Eatons.”

• Kurt Angle is not dismissing the possibility of returning to WWE.

“Since these guys wrestle part time, obviously it’s appealing. But that’s what I do in Impact Wrestling now,” Angle told Newsday. “My loyalty is with Impact Wrestling right now. I can’t think about it yet until my contract is up. But is there a possibility (of returning to WWE)? You can’t throw anything off the table.”

• “Flintstones,” meet WWE. The wrestling organization is teaming up with the classic cartoon in an animated movie where members of the Flintstone family travel to a WWE show, according to “Variety.” Scheduled to appear are WWE personalities with a Bedrock twist: John Cenastone, Vince McMagma and CM Punkrock. The movie’s release date is early 2015.
