The WWE world heavyweight champion has undergone several tests and is not expected to miss this month’s “Extreme Rules” pay-per-view.
• The U.K. Sun has confirmed Bill Moody (Paul Bearer) will be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. Moody passed away earlier this year.
• Jerry Lawler almost died after suffering a heart attack on air during a WWE “Raw” episode. Later this month, he returns to the wrestling ring. As a wrestler.
Lawler is scheduled to wrestle in Ocala, Fla., on May 25 for “Bang TV,” a promotion run by Dory Funk Jr.
The Local Corner: TWA Friday Night Brawl runs at 8 p.m. at the TWA Arena off Reed Road in north Whitfield County, about three miles north of the bypass. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 12; senior citizens 60 and older with proof of age will be admitted for $3. Kids younger than 6 will be admitted free. Any military member with proper identification will be admitted free. If it’s your birthday, you will be admitted free.
