Rampage add third QB to mix

The Georgia Rampage have signed a new quarterback in hopes of sparking their offense and turning around the 2014 season.

Earlier this week, Dalton’s professional indoor football team added Bart Gloyd, who has played for multiple indoor football franchises since his last year at the University of West Georgia in 2003. Gloyd played for the now-defunct Rome Renegades in 2006.

The Rampage started the season with two quarterbacks, Telford Chatman and Demarcus Simons (who also plays wide receiver). Both are still on the roster, owner Kacee Smith said. The team, which competes in the X-League, has struggled to move the football at times while starting the season 0-3.

The Rampage lost 55-27 in last Thursday’s home game against the Florida Marine Raiders. That followed a 46-34 road loss to the St. Louis Attack and a 44-43 loss to the visiting Alabama Outlawz in the March 3 season opener. The Rampage return to action on April 19 at the trade center, hosting the Attack for a 7 p.m. game.
